Good morning from the Presidio Motel in Santa Barbara, Ca!!!
6 little monkeys piled in a hotel room...
cowboys and cowgirls from the wild wild west.
After check-in, we set out for a jaunt/ride to the beach. The Presidio Motel also has beach cruisers to ride, so I cruised up ahead and asked a local where one might bury their toes in the sand...

After realizing it was a few miles too far, we turned back to head to our show in Goleta, Ca at the Mercury Lounge. But it was still nice to get in some exercise and Knucklehead appreciated the adventure as well.
Earlier that day...
We went to UC Santa Barbara to perform live on Ted Coe's "Freak Power Ticket" radio show. Ted met us back in December at Jerry Perry's Birthday show and he was kind enough to invite us onto his show. We had a lot of fun and the sound quality turned out really well. You can listen to our radio show HERE.
Piled into the studio about to go on air.
30 minutes of performing live and chatting with Ted Coe!
After the radio spot, we went in search of a tire. Our econoline requires a special heavy duty, heavy load, super beefy tire which as you can imagine costs a pretty penny. However, we were able to make back almost all the money we spent on a new tire at our show last night at the Mercury Lounge in Goleta, Ca. (Thanks to Ted for booking this show for us!)
Now let us tell about the Mercury Lounge. Isabel says it's like a "psychic-new wave tiki lounge" where she just wanted to steal every piece of animal print/vinyl furniture. The place was really cool.
The owner of the bar and I talked shop about.....crafting.
Haha. They decorate their own matchbooks with old books & magazines & glitter paper. She pulled out the supplies and while I waited for soundcheck, I got to craft my own matchbooks. Can't say I've ever crafted at a bar before. Dawn, the owner is a great supporter of the arts and loves her music collection. Many people consider the Mercury Lounge to be their favorite bar because of the genuine yet hip vibe. We certainly enjoyed the veggie trays, fresh popped popcorn and vino hospitality. Thanks Dawn!

Today we're headed off to Blake's good friend Boda's place in Los Angeles to hang out a bit before our show in Hermosa Beach at the Shore. I'll check in later.
