The Final Frontier...Last Stage West

Hello from the Central Coast...again!

Blake and I woke up at 8am to watch the Morro Bay surf competition. Kids came from all over California to compete and they caught some good waves. We also saw a couple of the local beach bums that we met on our last tour.

The weather was a little moody and drizzly today but Morro Bay was still beautiful. Some of us got a chance to take naps while others went browsing around the thrift/antique shops on Main Street.

Tonight we drove along the country back roads of highway 41 all the way to Atascadero's one and only "Last Stage West" home of the best smoked ribs you'll ever eat.
After some technical difficulties with the sound, we were finally able to log on and play to our online audience over the live stream. To those of you who were watching, thanks for your patience!

Finally, Tom the wonderfully supportive and very hospitable owner of Last Stage West prepared 14 plates of ribs, coleslaw and steak fries...Needless to say, it was finger-lickin' good. This meal will definitely one of the top 5 meals we eat on the whole tour...

Free meals on tour are the best meals...especially when they taste good.
We're all crashing early tonight so we can make an early start to Santa Barbara for our UCSB radio show with Ted Coe tomorrow at 11am. And tomorrow night we'll be playing at the Mercury Lounge in Goleta, Ca. Just a couple days left in California and then we're off to Arizona!

Until tomorrow!

Jess
